I like the fictional adaptations some make with the character Benkei of Japanese Mythology, a monk-warrior that took the weapon of each opponent he defeated, gathering 999 weapons before his first loss.

In a similar concept, Burnkei challenge every mon it encounters and if defeat it, is able to take is best move, turning it into a glass-like sphere, and summoning an weapon shaped on the mon the move was taken, having the possibility of acquire a movepool as vast as Smeargle with it's Sketch. Not only that, but when it's not fighting, is able to create weapon for humans and mons like a smith, using its fire breath to heat furnaces, and with their thick hands, they can also hols the hottest of things without flinch.
